Happy Earth Day!

Plant a tree, hug a enviro-fascist.

I’m going to link to an “article” that tries to blow holes in the global warming theory, and write it off as a corporate driven agenda. To be exploited for profit, of course.

Warning: this is not journalism and it’s not necessarily objective but it does provide a lot of links and worth a read. Also have your pop up blocker armed and ready.

Here it is.

One thing you should definitely look at is the article he links to about the entire solar system warming and the links that article provides.

I don’t disagree with environmentalism as a whole. I am concerned about clean water, loss of wildlife habitat and deforestation and so on.

What concerns me is the hysteria about global warming and what loss of personal freedoms will come of this. We’ve already seen how fear of terrorism has been manipulated to cost us certain rights. I just hope this isn’t another path to the same end.

  1. I don’t know. As long as some plucky government entity doesn’t use the fight against global climate change to institute some new world order agenda it would probably benefit humans to go overboard with the hysteria and “accidentally” deal with some REAL problems like our looming energy and pollution problems, then under shoot any attempts due to global climate change being a bit over blown.

Though I should remind everyone that it was 75 degrees and sunny last week……. then it snowed a few days later, setting the record for the latest snow day of the year in Washington. Maybe i’m being paranoid but it SEEMS like things are getting a little wacky.

  2. I agree there is a whole host of human caused environmental problems that need addressing. I just don’t think CO2 emissions and global warming are at the top of the list.

I don’t like how everyone has fallen in step and are raving about man-made global warming. There’s just some eerie similarities between the way the media is handling this and the way it handled WMD’s and the build up to the Iraq invasion.

All of the sudden we’ve just excepted that humans are the cause of global warming when there’s evidence to suggest otherwise.

As far as wacky weather goes, we only have weather records in the Pacific Northwest going back about a hundred years. Statistically speaking that’s what you call “extremely small sample size” and it would be hard to draw any meaningful conclusions based on that short of history.

Sorry I forgot to insert a dick joke in there somewhere. I’ll be sure to return to character in future comments.
