Infinity Blade Review

22 12 2010

The sun is struggling, held at bay by voluminous clouds. Yet, it succeeds in illuminating a breath-taking landscape in which a sepia-toned castle, perched upon mossy cliffs, looms in the distance. A lone, armor clad figure stands on a rocky precipice. Although there is a longing to explore this gorgeous world, it is not this hero’s fate. ‘Tis The Season For Free Apps!

1 12 2010

The Appvent Calendar is back this year and how! This year it kicks off with the delightful ‘Time Geeks: Find All!’. The game is a hidden object game rendered in pixel art. It has a neat sense of humor and Game Center support if that’s important to you. After playing the first level it would be easy to recommend this as a must buy but it’s free for today only so go get it!

Also, prolific App Store publisher Gameloft is doing a similar promotion through Twitter. Their first free offer? ‘Driver‘, the awesome  PS One game. I haven’t been able to confirm if the movie making mode, which made the original a classic, is in this port. Check it out though, it’s FREE!

So follow Gameloft on Twitter and Check the Appvent Calendar daily so you can lavish yourself with daily gifts, for nothing!

Mega Man Legends 3!

29 09 2010

In the wake of the 3DS press conference (February 26 2011/$299 in Japan), Capcom let slip news of a new installment in the Mega Man Legends series. If you played the previous games, you know they were serviceable Zelda clones. Not the tight platforming and twitch gameplay you expect from a Mega Man game but the game served up oodles of personality.

The chance to revisit the world and art style of those previous games makes this announcement pretty exciting. Also check out the video below to see how Keiji Inafune plans to approach this game differently.
